YOUR INFORMATION
Privacy policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
This notice explains how LegitSponsors handles information when you use legitsponsors.co.uk, save jobs, request alerts or contact us. LegitSponsors is an independent sponsor directory and job-discovery website. We are not the Home Office, Companies House or the employers listed here.
1. Who is responsible and how to contact us
LegitSponsors is responsible for the website processing described here. For privacy questions, correction requests or requests about your personal information, email [email protected]. Include enough information to identify the relevant subscription, message or listing. Do not send passwords, payment details, passports or other sensitive documents.
2. Information you choose to provide
If you request alerts, we receive your email address and any town, category or frequency preferences you submit. We also record relevant confirmation, subscription and unsubscribe information. If you contact us, we receive your message and contact details.
Optional or earlier job-interest forms may also have collected your name, email address, optional telephone number, selected job title, company and job-page address, alert preference and a record of the form submission. Existing records may remain subject to the retention criteria below. Providing these details is not required to browse the directory.
Current job applications take place on the employer’s hiring website. Following an application link does not automatically submit an application or send your saved jobs to the employer. The employer controls information you subsequently give it. Check its privacy notice before applying.
3. Technical information and website analytics
Our website and service providers process technical information such as IP addresses, requested URLs, request times, browser or device details, referring pages and response or error information. This helps deliver pages, identify broken links, prevent abuse and investigate faults. Form services may record an IP address, browser information and submission time.
Google Analytics is optional. Its tracking script loads only after you choose Allow analytics. If you choose Reject analytics or have not chosen, the website does not load the Google Analytics tracking script. Browsing and job search work either way. You can change your choice through Privacy settings in the footer.
When allowed, Google Analytics 4 helps us understand visits, page views and interactions such as clicks on application links. Google may process browser or device identifiers, activity, referral information and approximate location. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses or telephone numbers in analytics events. Analytics does not tell us whether an employer accepted an application or hired someone. Visits without analytics consent are not fully represented in these reports. See Google’s privacy policy.
4. Sponsor and company information
Listings use public information, including the Home Office register of licensed sponsors, Companies House records where matched, and public employer recruitment pages or job feeds. Business names and addresses can sometimes identify individuals, including sole traders. We use this information to help visitors check organisations and find relevant opportunities.
Public availability does not remove your data-protection rights. If a listing contains inaccurate or inappropriate personal information, contact us with the page URL and supporting details. We assess corrections, objections and removal requests in context; a website listing is not an official government record.
5. Why we use information and our legal bases
- Provide requested features: respond to enquiries, manage requested subscriptions and provide sign-in or preference features. We rely on consent for requested marketing alerts and, where applicable, taking steps at your request or providing an agreed service.
- Operate and protect the website: delivery, troubleshooting, abuse prevention and relevant public business listings rely on our legitimate interests in maintaining a useful, reliable directory, balanced against individuals’ rights.
- Analytics and advertising: consent is required where applicable for non-essential device storage, tracking or personalised advertising. Any separate processing must also have an appropriate lawful basis; a legitimate interest does not replace required cookie consent.
- Compliance: respond to lawful requests, exercise or defend legal claims and meet applicable legal obligations.
We do not make automated hiring, visa or sponsorship decisions about you. Suggested jobs and sponsors are discovery aids. Employers and the relevant authorities make their own decisions.
6. Cookies and storage on your device
Cookies are small files used by a website or its providers. Browser local storage can retain information on your device without a conventional cookie expiry.
- Saved jobs:
ls_saved_jobs_v1stores bookmarked job details in your browser. It does not create an account or upload your saved-job list to our server. - Alert prompts:
ls_jpv,ls_subandls_psremember job-page visits, signup status and prompt dismissal preferences. - Alert-account sign-in: where used, the secure
ls_sessioncookie lasts up to 30 days. Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes. Expiry prevents use of the credential; it does not necessarily delete the underlying record. - Privacy choice:
ls_privacy_v1remembers your analytics choice in local storage for 180 days, after which we ask again. It contains the choice, version and expiry time. Clearing site storage resets this choice. - Analytics: Google Analytics cookies such as
_gaand_ga_…are enabled only after you allow analytics. Rejecting analytics stops this website’s Analytics collection and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies for this site; it does not erase information already sent to Google. - Security: Cloudflare may use technologies needed for website delivery and security. Optional features and browser storage are described above.
You can remove saved jobs, clear site data or restrict cookies through your browser. This can reset preferences or prevent features working. Clearing browser data does not delete information already submitted to us. Google also offers an Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Use Privacy settings to allow or reject optional analytics. Reading this notice does not load Google Analytics, even if you previously allowed it. Removing advertising does not grant analytics cookie consent.
The salary calculator and Sponsor-Ready checker calculate results in your browser; their answers are not submitted to a dedicated backend by those tools. Ordinary page analytics may still record a visit.
7. Service providers and other recipients
Information may be handled by our hosting and infrastructure providers, Cloudflare for website delivery and security, Google for analytics and email services, and FormSubmit for form submission and delivery. A form sent through FormSubmit is processed by that service and delivered to our contact mailbox. Relevant notices: Cloudflare privacy policy and FormSubmit privacy policy.
Access is limited to people and providers who need it for the relevant purpose. We may disclose information when legally required, to protect rights or investigate abuse, or as part of a lawful business transfer with appropriate protections. Employer websites and external services have their own privacy practices.
8. Advertising
Programmatic advertising through Mediavine/Journey was disabled on 19 October 2026. The website no longer loads its advertising script or its advertising consent interface. Disabling these services does not automatically erase information previously collected by providers or remove cookies already stored in your browser.
For questions about earlier advertising data, contact us or consult the relevant provider’s privacy information. You can also clear existing cookies and site data through your browser settings.
9. International processing
Our providers may process information outside the UK or European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where applicable law restricts a transfer, appropriate transfer safeguards or a permitted exception are required. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data. Provider notices explain their international processing; we do not claim that all information stays in the UK.
10. How long information is kept
Retention depends on the purpose, subscription status, security needs, legal obligations and whether information is needed to resolve a request or dispute. We do not apply one guaranteed deletion period to every system, mailbox and backup.
Web-server logs are configured to rotate daily with 14 archived log files, in addition to the current log. Provider logs, security investigations and backups may have separate retention arrangements.
Unsubscribing stops alerts but does not automatically erase the subscription record. Limited suppression information may be needed to respect your preference. Submitted enquiries or job-interest records may remain in service databases or email until no longer required. Browser storage remains until removed or cleared. Backups and provider-held records can follow separate retention cycles. Contact us to request deletion; we explain any justified exception.
11. Your rights and choices
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing. You have a separate right to object to direct marketing. Use an unsubscribe link where provided or email us; we may need proportionate verification before acting on a request.
Your right to object: you can object to processing based on legitimate interests and to direct marketing. Email [email protected] with your request. We respond within applicable legal deadlines and explain any lawful exception.
Use Privacy settings in the footer to withdraw or change analytics consent. Advertising consent remains denied. The former advertising privacy controls are no longer loaded. Contact us about information previously collected or to exercise applicable rights. You can clear earlier cookies using your browser settings.
Where applicable US state laws grant rights concerning access, correction, deletion, portability, targeted advertising, sale or sharing, you may exercise those rights through available privacy controls or by contacting us. Those rights depend on the law and circumstances; advertising activity can have legal meanings beyond exchanging information for money.
You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or your relevant local supervisory authority. You can contact us first, but that is not a condition of complaining.
12. Security, children and updates
We use measures including encrypted website connections and restricted administrative access. No system is completely secure. The website is intended for adults seeking employment and is not directed to children under 16. If a child has supplied personal information, contact us so we can assess and address it.
We update this notice when the website or its processing changes. The date above identifies the latest version. Where required, material changes will be brought to your attention or fresh consent requested.
